As the strong storm came rolling in,
ReplyDeleteThe lonely girl crawled into bed.
She was abruptly woken by a loud crash.
As the bedroom door squeaked open,
She pulled the covers over her head.
She knew him too well.
ReplyDeleteShe predicted when he would call,
When he would forget to show up.
She could simply glance at his face and read his thoughts.
Just when she thought she knew his every move,
Something unexpected:
He broke her like the glass of Ratched's window.
She thought life was more than just regrets and pain.
ReplyDeleteShe thought she could find meaning in the mundane,
but she realized her efforts were in vain.
Maybe Mr. Kurtz was right after all.
sweet, sweet clarity
ReplyDeleteoh the horror, the horror
what will morrow bring?
Despite his solemnity,
ReplyDeleteHe always had a way of telling stories
That would make even Nurse Ratched laugh.
Driving, driving, driving
ReplyDeletePassing interstate signs and fast food mines
A black snake-like strip through the mountains
Subdivisions to the left and right
Into the Heart of Darkness
And McMurphy laughed
ReplyDeleteAnd Sleeping Beauty awoke
And Edna was free
And Frannie learned the fundamental secret
"Satisfaction"
ReplyDeleteThe challenge was upon them:
to overcome the midnight roar.
With his delectable, smooth, crunch
and her wet, wide open pores
Together they could be one
until the deed was done.
At last the noise had calmed...
his crunch was soft and her pores were closed
Satisfaction was the reward
One could say they were star-crossed lovers.
Eternal Slumber
ReplyDeleteHer appearance was forever preserved
In that cold, porcelain doll.
The wildness of that black hair
Heightened by the contrast of ivory skin.
Those mysterious eyes,
Piercing, almost blinding,
Holding the darkest of influence.
I would have been frightened,
Had I not been so helplessly drawn in
And captivated
By those parallel features,
Those cold, frozen characteristics
That reminded me
Of the profound darkness in her heart.
The Horror, The Horror
ReplyDeleteMy house used to sit
Upon that hill
Just off the highway
I played hopscotch
In my back yard
Where that factory is now
Two households
ReplyDeleteVery much the same.
One red, one blue
Gnomes sitting in a row.
Two face
Two break
"Fog Machine"
ReplyDeleteIt is Sunday morning,
Should I open the blinds?
It is dark, yet light,
I'm in a fog.
I want to wake up.
When my dreams swear that they are made of truth
ReplyDeleteI love my dreams–
but she lies.
She says she can make me happy.
My dreams love me–
but my stay is only temporary.
I cheat on her with the real world.
